Ann Mashburn Store Review
Joanna Sullivan, A&H Magazine Sketch Artist Contributor
As summer collections come and go, the nature of this leisure season can sometimes seem as fleeting as a Gidget/Moondoggie summer romance. It is only at a store like Ann Mashburn that the beauty of summer truly seems to stand still. Upon arriving at this lovely boutique in an up-and-coming neighborhood in Atlanta, one is presented with an air of beauty that could only be equated to a Slim Aarons photograph. Perfect summery Parisian espadrilles in woven baskets kindly greet customers as they enter the store. Beautiful stacks of tailored popover shirts line the display tables in various hues. And a tall inspiration wall is filled to the brim with pictures and fabrics new and old that reveal the story behind this lifestyle gallery.
Here the personnel are attentive and engaging, each possessing a warm personality and a passion for the brand. Whether one comes in to buy an Allegra Hicks book or just a neon Caran d’Ache ballpoint pen, each customer feels a sense of self-actualization that they chose to spend an afternoon on this side of paradise instead of another hum-drum day at the pool.
