Neiman Marcus x Target
Christmas is quickly approaching (it’ll be here before we know it) and eager shoppers will scrambling to find that “perfect” gift for that special person on their list! Where better to start than Target. Yes, Target; that place that sells, well just about everything you can think of (except tires- Wal-Mart has you covered in that field). Looking for your little brother? Rag and Bone’s boy cardigan. Made from heavy knit-wool blend, this cardigan is guaranteed to be the talk of the classroom. Oh, and cross off pops from the list- get him a matching Rag and Bone cardigan. I’ll admit, it’s one of my favorite pieces in the collection. Something for your dog? Oscar De La Renta delivers with what I think may be the most stylish doggie bowl on the market. Moving on; something for mom? Nothing says “I Love You” like a Marc Jacobs wool-cashmere blend scarf. Why your at it, why not something for yourself friends. Leave it to the master craftsman, Thom Browne, to deliver his short cut blazer with his signature touch (white, red, and blue trim).
In all seriousness though, I’m impressed with how the collection came together. You name it, they’ve got you covered (including the Band of Outsiders cookie cutters?) Target’s on the move, sweeping up designers and producing collaborations we couldn’t have dreamed up while bringing a new eye for fashion to the average household. It’s our first real taste of the market, meaning it will be interesting to see how the products sell. Yes, obvious cities (NYC, LA, Chicago) will sell out in a matter of hours, but how will things move in the Midwest? Word is that the collection will be available in all Target stores as well as Neiman Marcus locations.
My final thought? Who at Target is responsible for these projects? Someone’s gotta have a name or some kind of contact! Whoever you are, keep on moving. I think you’ve got something really good here.
